Day 1

Arrival in St. John's

  • Upon your arrival at V.C. Bird International Airport, you’ll transfer to your accommodation where you can settle in and refresh. Start your exploration with a visit to the capital, St. John's. Your first stop is the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, housed in the colonial Court House from 1747, which offers a compelling glimpse into the island's Arawak and colonial history. Afterwards, wander through the vibrant public market on Market Street.     • Take a day trip to Antigua’s sister island, Barbuda, known for its pink sandy beaches and the Frigate Bird Sanctuary. You can travel by ferry or a short flight. Once there, visit the Frigate Bird Sanctuary, accessible only by boat. This sanctuary is home to one of the largest colonies of frigate birds in the world. Spend some time kayaking through the mangroves or simply observing these magnificent birds in their natural habitat. Afterwards, head to one of Barbuda’s famous pink sand beaches, such as Princess Diana Beach, for an afternoon of relaxation and swimming in crystal-clear waters. Return to Antigua in the evening.

Continue to Betty’s Hope, a restored sugar plantation where you can learn about the history of sugar production on the island. In the afternoon, visit a local market to sample more Antiguan cuisine and perhaps catch a local cricket match, a popular pastime in the Caribbean.
