Day 1

Arrive Colombo - Kandy

  • Arrive into Colombo and you will be welcomed and assisted by a representative before you proceed to Dambulla. En-route visit Pinnawala Elephant orphanage which shelters more than 70 orphaned elephants and visit Herbal Garden. Afternoon visit the cave Temple at Dambulla. Dambulla is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that King Valagam Bahu took refuge in the 1st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. visit the Spice Garden in Matale. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka's most celebrated exports. While visiting a Spice Garden you could sample such scents and flavors as cinnamon, ginger, pepper, vanilla, cardamom and many more. In the evening visit Dālada Maligai. . Later witness spectacular dance performances (Cultural show).Overnight in Dambulla.

Day 2

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

  • After Breakfast, the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dālada) of Lord Buddha that is the most venerated object of worship for Buddhists and also visit a tea factory to witness the manufacturing process of the finest Ceylon tea. In the afternoon do a sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya. Set in the heart of tea-country this beautiful town is where the British succeeded in creating an English countryside with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 3

Nuwara Eliya – Bentota

  • After breakfast, proceed to Bentota. On arrival, explore the Bentota Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery Kosgoda (Turtle Hatchery) - Where you can see five species of turtles-Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas), Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta), Leatherback Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) and Olive Ridley Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea). The eggs collected by the Villagers and Fishermen are purchased by the Kosgoda Hatchery and kept in sandy pens until they are hatched. The newly hatched ones are kept in seawater tanks and released to the sea at night. This Hatchery alone has released more than 1,750,000 young turtles to the sea. An endowment by the Hasselblad Estate was responsible for the establishment of this hatchery.
  • Have a Boat safari in Madu River. (Approx: 1Hrs) Madu River Boat Safari - Sri Lanka is a real paradise for all nature lovers. Yet some places are especially beautiful and draw hundreds of tourists with enchanting sceneries and serene atmosphere. Madu River is located in the south of Sri Lanka near Galle. The water of the river is dotted with small islands and the banks are all covered with lush mangrove forests that are home to dozens of incredible animal species. Enjoy hundreds of vibrant tropical birds and a few crocodiles if you’re lucky enough. These creatures are pretty rare and don’t like crowds. A fish breeding center is located in the middle of the river offering an insight into the breeding cycle of local fish species. The swampy marshlands that surround the Madu River are under protection of the government of Sri Lanka as it is a fragile ecosystem that is home to many rare animal species. There are around 300 animal species in Madu River, 19 of which are endemic. The soil there is also really fertile - it’s a real treasure trove for ecologists and biologists.Dinner & Overnight stay at Bentota.

Day 4

Bentota – Colombo

  • After breakfast, proceed to Colombo; like many capital cities in developing countries this is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the old world charm is retained with several British built colonial buildings, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) - an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the People's Republic of China. In the evening, you have time free for shopping; visit House of Fashion, Odel Dress Boutique, Majestic City, Noritake Ceramic ware showroom and local souvenir shops. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 5

Departure

  • After breakfast, you have time free at leisure till it’s time to proceed to the airport for your flight back home.
