Day 1

Arrival Guwahati

  • Benny’s Royal Tours’ Assam Meghalaya Tour begins. Assemble at Cochin/ Trivandrum/ Kozhikode. After security check-in procedures flight departs to Guwahati in Assam. Arrive at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, Assam. Guwahati, often referred to as the "Gateway to the Northeast," is the largest city in Assam and a major cultural, economic, and political hub of the region. Nestled on the southern banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River, Guwahati is a blend of rich history, spiritual significance, natural beauty, and modern development. After lunch, we will visit the Brahmaputra Ropeway way Aerial view of the Passenger Ropeway over River Brahmaputra connecting Guwahati North & South Bank. In the evening you will enjoy a Sunset Cruise at the Brahmaputra River (subject to seat availability), and also enjoy the view of the Brahmaputra River. Overnight at the hotel in Guwahati.

Day 2

Guwahati - Kaziranga

  • After a delightful breakfast, your day will begin with a visit to the Kamakhya Temple, located on Nilachal Hill, which lies on the way to Kaziranga. This ancient and revered temple is dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya, one of the most significant Shakti Peethas in India. Surrounded by a serene and spiritual atmosphere, the temple offers panoramic views of the Brahmaputra River and the hills that frame the landscape. As you explore the temple complex, you'll experience the historical and cultural significance of this sacred site, which attracts pilgrims from all over the world.
  • Following your visit to the temple, you will continue your scenic drive towards Kaziranga, Kaziranga is particularly renowned for being home to the largest population of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, which is a major attraction for wildlife enthusiasts and tourists. Upon arrival, you’ll check in to your hotel and take some time to relax and refresh. Kaziranga, with its lush landscapes and rich biodiversity, offers a serene and exciting experience for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. In the evening, a special visit awaits you at the Orchid Park, where you will be treated to an enchanting cultural performance. The program will showcase several traditional Assamese dance forms, such as the Jhumur Dance, a lively celebration of the tea gardens, the energetic and colorful Bihu Dance, a symbol of Assam’s agricultural traditions, and the unique Karbi Bamboo Dance, reflecting the indigenous culture of the region. These performances offer a captivating insight into the rich cultural heritage of Assam. After enjoying the cultural program, you will return to your hotel, dinner, and overnight stay at Kaziranga Hotel.

Day 3

Kaziranga - Shillong

  • After a restful night, you’ll start your day with a scenic drive to Kaziranga National Park, one of India’s most iconic wildlife reserves and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Renowned for its large population of the endangered One-Horned Rhinoceros, Kaziranga is also home to a rich variety of other wildlife, including tigers, elephants, wild buffaloes, and an incredible array of bird species. After your safari, you’ll return to the hotel for a delicious breakfast, giving you a moment to relax and recharge. Following breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and begin your drive to Shillong, often referred to as the 'Scotland of the East.' Located at an altitude of 4,900 feet, Shillong is celebrated for its scenic landscapes, pleasant climate, and charming colonial heritage. The city offers a blend of breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural history, and vibrant local life. On your way to Shillong, you will stop to visit Umium Lake, a serene and majestic body of water surrounded by lush hills. The lake’s tranquil atmosphere, combined with its picturesque setting, makes it a perfect spot for peaceful moments and photography. Upon arrival in Shillong, you will check in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 4

Shillong

  • Mawlynnong – Dawki Excursion
  • After a delightful breakfast, we begin our journey towards Mawlynnong, renowned as "Asia’s Cleanest Village." Nestled in the heart of Meghalaya, Mawlynnong is a shining example of the community’s commitment to cleanliness and environmental preservation. The village is not only famous for its cleanliness but also for its serene natural beauty and unique attractions. You’ll be captivated by the living root bridges, a fascinating sight where the roots of trees have been intricately woven by local communities into natural bridges. Another highlight of Mawlynnong is the balancing rock, a mysterious natural phenomenon where a large boulder rests precariously on a smaller rock, leaving visitors awestruck by nature’s wonders.
  • After exploring the tranquil beauty of Mawlynnong, we will proceed towards Dawki, a small town near the India-Bangladesh border. Dawki is famous for its stunning landscapes, and most notably, for the crystal-clear waters of the Umangot River. As you gaze upon the river’s sparkling surface, surrounded by lush hills, you’ll be mesmerized by the picturesque scenery and serene ambiance. The river's clarity makes it seem almost surreal, creating a peaceful atmosphere for those who visit. In the evening, we will make our way back to Shillong, have dinner, and overnight stay at the Shillong hotel.

Day 5

Shillong - Cherrapunjee

  • After an early breakfast, we drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), known as the wettest place in the world, celebrated for its lush greenery, heavy rainfall, and stunning natural beauty. On the way, we stop to admire Elephanta Falls, a serene spot offering beautiful views and a chance to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
  • Continuing our journey, we will take in the breathtaking vistas from the Mawdok-Dympep Valley Viewpoint before reaching Cherrapunjee. There, you’ll witness the majestic Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Just nearby, the spectacular Nohsngithiang Falls, also known as the Seven Sisters Falls, is another highlight of the region. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the fascinating Mawsmai Caves, known for their intriguing limestone formations. After a full day of exploration, we return to our hotel in Cherrapunjee for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6

Cherrapunjee - Guwahati - Departure

  • After breakfast, we check out from the hotel and visit Lady Hydar Park, Wads Lake, and the Cathedral Church, each offering its own charm and scenic beauty. We then drive to Guwahati, where you will be dropped off at the Guwahati Airport for your onward journey. Depart from Guwahati Airport and arrive at Kochi/ Trivandrum/ Kozhikode Airports with sweet memories of Benny’s Royal Tours’ Assam Meghalaya Tour.
