  • Visit Guadalupe Basilica, the largest pilgrimage of the Virgin Mary in the world.
  • After lunch we will proceed to Guadalupe to visit the Guadalupe Basilica, located in Mexico City, which is one of the most significant religions in Mexico and the Americas. In 1531, according to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared to a native Mexican, Juan Diego on the Hill of Tepeyac, near present-day Mexico City. She instructed him to build a church in her honor. After several miraculous events, including the imprint of her image on Juan Diego’s cloak (or “tilma”), the local bishop was convinced of the apparition’s authenticity. A shrine was built on the site, marking the beginning of devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Over the centuries, the shrine became a major pilgrimage site, drawing millions of devotees annually. As the number of pilgrims increased, the original church was expanded and renovated multiple times.
